He was for a time a member of the London Symphony Orchestra, the Balanescu String Quartet and principal cellist of Opus 20. He has performed as a guest with many string quartets: Medici, Lyric, Kunst, Brindisi, English and Locrian… and has recorded for E.C.M., Decca, Mute, Sony and Village Life.

Nick has featured as solo cellist on many film scores including Nocturnal Animals (2016), Mr.Turner, Trolls and many Stephen Warbeck scores… the most recent being Jeanne Du Barry (2023) directed by Maïwenn. He has performed as soloist at the Tenerife, Transatlantyk and London Film Festivals.

Nick also records at his home studio for film, TV and contemporary artists, a sideline which began when recording his own string arrangements (with his wife, Anna, on violin & viola) for Cara Winter’s Do You Have A Heart album.
